Born in Floyd County, Georgia on September 15, 1957 to Imogene Keith Sims and Shelby Brenton Sims.  3 Sisters:  Rhonda Kay Sims Padgett, Terri Suzanne Sims Guthrie, and Holly Beth Sims Kelly. Married to Dennis Knott, February 1, 2011.  One son, Matthew Dylan Akins, born November 11, 1987, one granddaughter, Braxton Hensley Akins, born May 16, 2011.

 Attended Coosa School, Krannert Elementary School, Coosa Elementary School and Coosa High School.  Graduated Coosa High School with Honors, 1975.

 Attended Floyd College for an approximate period of one-year.

 Attended Coosa Valley Technical College and completed course for certification in Medical Transcription, 2002.

 

HOBBIES:

Hunting dove, duck, quail, deer and wild turkey, and also preparing wild game dishes. Also enjoy fishing.

 Avid reader, reading approximately one to two books per week. Also enjoy writing short stories and poetry.

 Water activities including swimming, skiing, jet-skiing, and fishing.

 Enjoy dancing, walking, biking and aerobics for exercise.

 Enjoy sports.  Avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, the Rome Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Coosa Eagles. Former Team Captain of  co-ed volleyball team.

 Enjoy snow skiing.

 Enjoy computers.

 Enjoy motorcycling, anything Harley-Davidson, and NASCAR.
